Volunteer Program Introduction

  • Portland Audubon Society 5151 Northwest Cornell Road Portland, OR, 97210 United States (map)

Join us at Portland Audubon’s Volunteer Program Introduction, and learn about all aspects of joining the Portland Audubon community. Potential volunteers learn about the history of Portland Audubon, and our mission and values. We’ll discuss the wide variety of volunteer opportunities available so that folks can learn how they can use their talents and passion to help us achieve our goals. At the end of the afternoon there is time to connect with current volunteers, take tours of our sanctuary, and see the Wildlife Care Center.

Portland Audubon is a volunteer powered organization, and volunteers account for 35% of our workforce and 43,000 hours of service every year. Working hand-in-hand with our staff, our passionate volunteer base is essential to achieving our mission and helping to inspire people to love and protect the natural world.

Volunteers must fill out a Volunteer Application before attending this event.

Please fill out our Volunteer Application. We will confirm that we have received your application and we will email you a reminder about our next Volunteer Program Introduction.

NOTE: We do not charge any fees at the program introduction. If you go on to become an active volunteer, we will ask for $20 to cover the cost of a volunteer name badge and t shirt. If this presents a financial hardship and would prevent you from volunteering, please contact the Volunteer Manager to arrange for a partial scholarship. Portland Audubon covers the cost of a background check ($17) as well as a one-year membership ($25-$35 value) for all new volunteers.
