Due to Portland Parks & Recreation's recent regulations re: limiting the number of people in groups on their properties, this event is now cancelled. FOT is grateful to partner with PP&R and glad to support this decision to limit the potential impacts of the Coronavirus. We apologize for this inconvenience and ask for your understanding as we try to do what's best for our community's health.
Let's plant trees together in Happy Valley! Your help is needed to plant native trees and shrubs to restore the riparian vegetation around Mt. Scott Creek. Mt. Scott is a tributary to Kellog Creek, an important tributary to the Willamette River and home to Coho salmon, Steelhead, Pacific lamprey and many more wildlife species. The trees and shrubs you plant will help cool the water so our salmonoid friends and other species can continue to flourish in this urban area! This event is supported by the City of Happy Valley.
Please arrive by 8:45am to sign-in and enjoy some breakfast treats and coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The planting starts at 9:00am. We provide gloves, tools, and planting guidance -- all you need to do is show up dressed for the weather wearing sturdy shoes or boots, and be ready to have fun!
