Investing in a sustainable future
Boasting access to an abundance of outdoor recreation assets within minutes of its historic downtown, the City of Forest Grove takes an active role in nurturing a healthy population, attracting hikers, cyclists, paddlers, birders, and explorers of all ages to live, work, study, and play.
In 2014, Forest Grove enacted its own Sustainability Action Plan with the objective of sustaining the long-term health of the community and local ecosystems. The City’s Sustainability Commission continues to address these concerns at the physical, social, economic, governmental, and environmental levels. Forest Grove has been recognized as a Tree City USA for the past 31 years.
The city is home to many Tree For All project sites, including Fernhill Wetlands, the Gales Forest Grove Natural Area, Forest Glen Park, and the Gales Creek Stream Enhancement at B Street Trail.
The Forest Grove Water Resource Recovery Facility serves the growing communities of Forest Grove, Cornelius, and Gaston, and cleans 3 million gallons of water a day.
